This bar was located in the lobby of the Doubletree in San Antonio, TX. Jennifer worked on this project at Duncan & Miller Design. The room had this existing quatrefoil window that the design team kept and made the focal point of the bar by enhancing it with the banquette and drapes. The space was also small and linear, so to increase the seating, they designed and cantilevered bar tops on the wall opposite the bar. They accented the ceiling of the bar and darken the rest so that the bar visually popped in the space. The lobby bar was a huge success!

This restaurant was designed while Jennifer was working at Duncan & Miller Design. Kimberley Miller, the lead architect and Jennifer worked closely with renowned chef, Michael Richard, on his well-known Citronelle restaurant in Georgetown, DC. They created a space for Michael that focused on what he does best: Food! They designed a chef table in the kitchen in the days before the chef table became cliché. The chef’s table was completely dedicated to the kitchen and enclosed in glass. At this table, Michael Richard would personally cook for you. The team also designed a completely temperature controlled wine room surrounding the dining room. The same team also designed the Citronelle in Santa Barbara, CA for Michael.

This was one of Jennifer’s first projects at Vincent Associates, early in her design career. Two Rows Restaurant and Brewery was a fabulous project with great clients driving her to excel her design talents. The architect and Jennifer worked closely with the challenge of taking the previous Friday’s space in Old Town, Dallas and turning it into a restaurant with a full service, on-site brewery. The entire, multi-tiered space had to be leveled and they started from scratch to meet the guidelines & needs of the American Disabilities Act. Jennifer said it was such a reward to be involved in this project. Jennifer continued to help them with their next two locations in Houston and another off the North Dallas Toll way.

SDA was working on this project in Houston when it sold during construction, which shut the project down. The new owners hired the SDA design team back to complete the job keeping the original design that Jennifer and the design team created but making some changes using their owner and management requirements. The original concept was a very clean Eastern feel with cool and subdued colors but many textures. This room is a multi-function space divided into 4 parts: a wine room, a poker room, a conference/tasting room and a large lavatory. The team loved designing this custom fixture above the large table. This space is warm and comfortable yet has so much energy!

Jennifer and the lead architect took this vast amount of space, large and tall, and created 4 individual spaces that still flowed together with an open gallery feel. This project is in Kansas City and was awarded to SDA to design. They designed this huge wall and splayed it, at an angle, through the space, visually dividing the entry and leasing from the tenant spaces; the business center and the clubroom. They suspended this brightly colored, decorative ceiling for way-finding and to also add dimension to the immense ceiling. They also suspended the custom light fixtures from a circle design we added to the decorative ceiling. The fixtures created a line of sight into the clubroom beyond. Additionally, they visually enhanced this detail with a floor treatment that followed the pattern on the ceiling. Finally, Jennifer and the team clad the large wall, splitting the room, with a decorative paneling that created its own artwork throughout the space.

The concept for the clubroom in Las Colinas was to make this dining area a fabulous focal point to the space. Jennifer and the design team designed this multi-pendant lighting feature to suspend from inside this splayed ceiling. They hung these full-length draped panels on the windows to enhance the grandness of this space. What an incredible space for the tenants to have a dinner party!

This clubhouse is located in the heart of Las Colinas and was created while Jennifer was working at SDA. The space was a challenge from the shell of the building. It had lots of angles that tend to waste valuable space. The large space was broken into smaller functional spaces which lead to smaller rooms with large ceilings, so Jennifer and the team had to really work to keep the scale of the rooms proportionate. The walls in the two main areas were broken up into two story vignettes. The two story area in the clubroom, shown in the picture, made a great place to enclose some great banquettes for reading or extra seating. The sophisticated lines of the furniture, the classical art and the custom medallion rugs were all pieces that made this inspirational room an award winning project.
